How wonderfully written. You are right actually. Religion is actually atheism. By the way, I would like to tell you something about my own faith. I am a Hindu and try to follow the Hindu way of life. Religion is 'dharma' derived from the word 'dharan'. Therefore, it is actually a set of principles that you adhere to or follow to lead a virtuous life.

I don't understand where God comes in between. In my books religion has no place for a God unless of course it is being spread, as it happened countless times in history, to spread it instilling fear of God or state (that obviously does God's work).

I would therefore like to say that I am a religious guy who does not believe in God. I wonder how many people would agree with me.

I am not agree with you on the following line:

"George Bush told the world that God asked him to attack Iraq!"

Bush was incorrect while saying so. ofcourse, there my be someone in his dream but it's not god but satan for sure. coz god will never say someone to kill the innocent ppl out there. this is merely to save is image that he can never put clean, for there remains the blood stains that can never be abolished.

fantastic post Ravi!! you are right that today we need to recognize the real essence of religion. world needs it today the most. the religion is the root cause of the conflicts that we witness on the daily basis. today all the religions are fighting for the supremacy and to spread and control the world while denying the existence to other religion, hence the conflict. we need to put this thinking of as long as we are willing to restore the peace in the world.

This is a great post. I completely agree with the point that if there was a God his religion would have been atheism. Religion is largely a commercial and political exercise that has been thrust upon human civilization. I think the world would have been a better place without hundreds of religions at loggerheads with each other, trying to establish their superiority.

Ravi are you an atheist?

If God is all knowing then considering what we are doing in his name he may well tell us that his religion is ATHEISM.

So that means the atheist God wouldn’t believe in himself? Difficult.

And the story about the dead man who sees ”Gods” going by, it is incomplete and has no point, esp with the point that you included Lord Krishna. While both Jesus and Mohammad are considered prophets (of God), Hinduism considers Krishna a God himself.
So how is it that people are celebrating Krishna’s birthday and not God’s?

Secondly, the three religions you mention explicitly (Christianity, Islam and Hinduism) all believe that God is eternal without a day of birth. (Krishna is an avatar or incarnation so he has a birthday). So while Prophets and Incarnations may have a birthday, God doesn’t have one.
